Our Visit to the Alzheimer and Dementia Show: A Journey of Learning and Inspiration

An event offering a fantastic opportunity to learn, connect, and discover new ways to enhance care services.

Yesterday we attended the Alzheimer and Dementia Show, the UK’s largest and only event covering all aspects of the fight against Alzheimer’s & dementia, and we’re still buzzing with excitement! It provided valuable insights and resources for Dementia Care, and we came back with some fantastic knowledge to enhance our care services at Accessible Care.

But the show wasn’t just for professionals – it also offered valuable resources for family members caring for loved ones with dementia. Special sessions focused on practical advice, coping strategies, and emotional support, empowering families with the knowledge and confidence to manage the challenges of dementia care. We believe that informed and supported families are crucial to the overall well-being of individuals with dementia, and we are committed to providing them with the resources they need.

Highlights included the Virtual Dementia Tour: This immersive experience gave us a deep understanding of the daily challenges faced by those living with dementia, reinforcing our commitment to providing empathetic and informed care. Walking in the shoes of our clients, even for a short while, was eye-opening and has truly enriched our approach to care.

Another standout moment was the Therapy Immersive Igloos: These innovative spaces showcased cutting-edge methods for therapeutic stimulation and relaxation. Imagine our clients enjoying a multisensory environment designed to soothe and stimulate – we’re thrilled about the possibilities!

Who says therapy can’t be fun? We discovered interactive memory games that are not only enjoyable but also super beneficial for cognitive health. These games are designed specifically for people with dementia and can help stimulate their brains in the most enjoyable way. It’s a win-win!

A huge thank you to all the incredible exhibitors and expert speakers who shared their knowledge and expertise with us: Tim Baverstock from Alzheimer’s Society, Prof. Martin Green from Care England, Amanda Partington-Todd from the Care Quality Commission, Kirsty O’Connor from Seating Matters, Sheridan Coker from Dementia UK, Peter Morris from Lockabox®, Sophie Tucker from Alzheimer’s Society, and Trevor Nell from OM Interactive LTD.

If you want to learn from leading experts, find practical advice and support, resources, help and information, develop a better understanding of dementia and further professional skills, visit The Alzheimer and Dementia Show and don’t miss future events! Download the official show guide here.

We’re more committed than ever to providing top-notch care and support. Together, we’re making a difference!
